What We Do
Two Main Goals
Our first goal includes helping victims leave abuse safely and heal via the following means:
- Provide emergency relief, by way of temporary housing, emergency food, clothing, and items necessary for outfitting a home.
- Equip those effected with job skills, resume writing, a professional wardrobe, and assisting in job acquisition.
- Assist with the application of government aid (if necessary).
- Provide financial support for:
- Legal counsel, especially in the instance of divorce.
- Various healing modalities including, but not limited to therapy, so that victims don’t re-enter their previous abusive relationship, or a new one in the future.
We strive to ensure victims are successful in creating a new life of health for themselves and that of their future generations.
Victims of domestic violence are 75% more likely to die in the 2 years following leaving an abusive relationship than if they had stayed.[1] There are reasons victims stay in situations of abuse and one of those reasons is that it can be really dangerous to leave. We are committed to helping victims do so safely, in conjunction with law enforcement, and we hold ourselves to complete confidentiality in any help that we provide.
Our second goal includes a more long-term vision, as we continue to grow:
Since it is statistically likely that the perpetrators of abuse were once victims themselves, we aim to help perpetrators find healing and to shift cultural narratives from those of violence to healing, through the following means:
- Published Writing
- Public Speaking
- Other Media Engagement
If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
